Seas are not so big as oceans but there are much more seas in the world. There are a lot of people who spend their holidays at the seaside enjoying good and sunny weather and swimming in warm waters of the sea.
The most famous seas of the world that are known to be popular resorts are the Black Sea, the Red Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, Aegean Sea, etc. The waters of seas are filled with salt, so it is impossible to drink its water. But if to eliminate salt it is possible to drink its water. And this was the cause of death of many sailors. They had no sweet water to drink. The sea with the biggest concentration of salt is the Dead Sea which sometimes is also considered to be the lake. If not to consider the Dead Sea, the biggest concentration of salt has The Red Sea. It is impossible to swim in it and you may see the rocks of salt just at the beach of this sea. However the seaside of the Dead Sea is a resort and people from all parts of the world come here to treat their diseases. Rivers fall in seas of the world.
In 1978 the International Hydrographical Organization established the international Sea Day. This holiday enters the system of world and international holidays of the UNO.
The Mediterranean Sea is situated in the southern Europe. And its coasts belong to France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Egypt and some others. It has several islands and separates two continents from each other Africa and Europe. It refers to the basin of the Atlantic Ocean. It is also connected with the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
From ancient times this sea played an important role. And people were cultivating the lands that were washed by this sea. Agriculture of Spain, Italy and France depend a lot on it. The transporting abilities of the Mediterranean Sea allow getting citrus fruits to Europe from Spain. And thanks to it Spain has become the leader of citrus selling. Cultivating of olives is the leading sphere of agriculture of France, Spain and Italy. In fact this sea unites three continents: Europe, Asia and Africa. That is why its importance is obvious as the maritime trade and transport routs cross it.
